The Twelve thread was looking a bit lonely, what with all our activity tonight.  I'll start a new thread, then!!!!!!

Um....I love the new album.
I'm not the kind of person whos into just blips and bleeps....so I didnt really take to the first album that much. I mean I could listen to them and appreciate them for what they were, but I haven't really listend to them since. The vocal tracks however I enjoyed, and 'Talking About' remains one of my fave 6x7/12  songs.

Album 2 , I pretty much love all of that one.... and it sounds like Sigur Ros in places.... Wink
'I Hung A Stone' and 'So Long' are also firm favourites for me.

I agree , I 'm a big fan of Sigur Ros (saw them at coachella - mindblowing), and they're who I think about when listening to the 2nd album.

I don't have the new one yet but album 1 was a tentative exercise in trying to "find the sound" anyway - but the only track I love on that one is the last track "Now" - a lovely pop song.

There are a few repetitive loop-type tracks that are on there that go on for too long (close relatives of "Leave Me Alone" from "04") and don't do anything for me.... I want the music to either grab me by the balls or seduce me with its lovely gorgeous tunefulness (something which "Now" succeeds very well at doing)....and nothing in between.... Cheesy

Hmmm...  I'm a fan of both records...
Both different. 1st one more lateral... aways away from 6x7, somewhere off in the late night/early morning whisky slump.
2nd more like 6x7, sounds more like a man fighting to find a sound who already knew where it was anyway and just nailed it to the deck and painted it in the ugliest tar and most gorgeous coloured napalm.
Something like that.
Also, though, that second one, was the record that finally was the goddamn door into 6x7 for one of my friends after years of trying.
He finally got it.
Was 6 in the morning after a great deal of whisky, but still....

I'm still loving the 2nd album. There's just so many ideas packed into it, but it also has a distinct personality. I love the vocal tracks like 'I Hung A Stone' and 'So Long', but the instrumental stuff works really well too. Some of those tracks are great to chill out to last thing at night.

Digging up old threads again...

Since this here started there were some more albums made.

I think it's hard to compare them. The first two maybe with their mix of instrumental and normal songs are comparable as well as the 03s and the Houston ones.

I can't say what I prefer. I like all of them. But the masterpiece in my opinion is the second part of 03. Shame that it'll never see the light of a proper release. It's the Twelve album that I play the most.
