ESC in Oslo 2010
13. Mar 2010 at 16:17

Well... Dunno if anyone has serious interest, but here's the german entry:

Lena Mayer-Landrut - Satellite

Chosen through a lot of casting shows until yesterday.

Germany 0 points (again  Grin ).

Maybe we better send Chris O. with an acoustic version of "Spiegelei und Brot"  Grin

"your country needs you", that's uk eurovision song selection, was on friday and was the most rubbish tv i've seen in a long long time.

nul points coming!

basically they put PETE WATERMAN in charge of the whole thing (yes him of stock, aitken & waterman...), he wrote the song, he selected 3 of the 6 finalists for the public votes. the 6 finalists who had been preselected wouldn't have gone through the first round of the x-factor. i only watched it till the end because i was drunk. really really dreadful.

most awful eurovision hopeful ever however still remains sasha bognibov of moldova. he failed again this year thankfully.

Waterman?  Is he still alive Grin?

The event itself is always good for some laughs and for anger if the nakedest untalentest woman wins (as almost anytime). Looking forward to it. When is it anyway? A week after Pentecost. Ah O.K... *marks it in the calendar*.
And I bet as always -> max. points from Germany to Turkey
-> 0 points from Austria to Germany (OK maybe some fans cross the border  Grin)

Televoting is an awful distortion of competition.

From what I read most countries' songs really are abysmal this year - the German song has the merit of sounding contemporary.

And not like it had been in Pete Waterman's cupboard for 20-25 years.

It might do better than you expect!

oh you don't have to apologize Cheesy

the uk selection tv programme was the worst tv i watched in years. the song is horrible.
i blame terry wogan for convincing brits that eurovision is so cheesy that only the worst will do. see how scooch got selected a few years back eg.

Your candidate is trying to do Take That alone with the help of naked women seems  Grin.

The entry from Belgium is nice. A man and his guitar...
Reminds me of something  Wink.

that first semi final was atrocious. i kinda liked the portuguese disney tune but that's about it.
actually macedonia were so bad that i wanted to see them through. wtf was poland about too?
that serbian bloke looks like heather mills too.

as for scantily clad women, it's the french entry you'll want to be watching.

most likely i won't get to see the contest itself, but will watch the second semi tonight. i wonder what are the odds of uk nil points - probably worth a cheeky bet Smiley

edit:
with such odds i'm not sure the cheeky bet is really even worth it:
UK - Null Points      3/1
UK - To finish last in the final      1/2
UK - Top 10 finish      11/1
LOL

The Belraus' butterflies were awful (didn't hit a single tone)... And they are in the final  Undecided.
The Russian guy has a awesome voice, but he should sing opera and not pop songs (-> final).  Undecided
The Portugese sent a nice young girl, good voice but boooooring song. (-> final)  Undecided
Poland had something that I suppose you had to listen to more often. It was a bit to progressive for the ESC.

I liked the song of the Fins (-> out), and I'm going to vote for Belgium in the final.
The Netherlands have a nice song too. They have to get to the final today.

Looking forward to Semi 2 today: "Opa!"  Grin

OMG... What idiots did vote?

Naked woman who can't sing get into the final.

Oh... That's what it is like every year. And the reason why I tell myself every year that I won't watch it again.  Grin

Netherlands, Lithuania and Sweden had to be in there... Sad

OMG...  Shocked

Sorry for winning. I can't explain this.
It's a mediocre song and the girl is a freak. O.K. I suppose you must be kind of freaky for music business.

Btw. good job in fullfilling the expectations, UK  Grin.
